I am a father, husband, and Roman Catholic scholar teaching at a Jesuit institution in Massachusetts, USA. My teaching and research cover Comparative Religions, global Catholicism, Catholic theology and spirituality, Mormonism and Jehovah's Witnesses. I am the founding editor of the Journal of Global Catholicism, author of Mercy Matters: Opening Yourself to the Life Changing Gift (OSV, 2016), and co-editor of Engaging South Asian Religions: Boundaries, Appropriations, and Resistances (SUNY, 2012). I am on the editorial boards of Christian Higher Education; Asian Horizons; Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought. I have published opinion pieces in the Washington Post, Newsweek, Salon, Fortune, Commonweal Magazine, The National Catholic Reporter, and US News and World Report. I also have a large standard poodle, a pot-belly pig, and a gecko.
